Patek Philippe developed the Neptune in the late 1990s to appeal to those who sought the elegance of a dress watch and the functionality of a sports watch. And they were successful as the stainless steel stunner featured a silky, multi-link bracelet and a legible display that contrasts nicely against the dial. The collection began with the time-only ref. 5080. The impressive ref. 5085 for sale here, complete with a Moon Phase complication, power reserve indicator, and date display, joined the series in 1998. Eventually, both references were discontinued after a somewhat brief production run, making the Patek Neptune a rare and highly collectible luxury watch.
Surprisingly, it's also relatively affordable, by Patek Philippe standards. If you've always wanted to invest in a Patek wristwatch, this ref. 5085 might be the perfect opportunity to do so without breaking the bank.
