Pre-owned Patek Philippe Calatrava 5153J-001 (2014) comes from one of the most respected dress watch collections ever created. Introduced in 1932, the Calatrava set the standard for clean, time-only design, and it still defines the category today. This reference is a 38mm yellow gold model from 2014 and is known for its distinctive Officer-style hinged caseback. That hinged back isn’t just for looks. It traces back to early wristwatches made from converted pocket watches. Open it up, and you’ll find a sapphire display, offering a clear view of the movement inside. The dial has a very classic setup with a silvery opaline finish, arrowhead hour markers, tapered hands, and a dotted minute track. There’s also a subtle sunray effect at the center that shifts nicely in the light. It’s finished with a screw and bar strap attachment, a more traditional design element that feels true to the watch’s old-world inspiration.
