Originally designed by Gérald Genta and introduced in 1976, the Nautilus debuted as a luxury sports watch with an unconventional porthole-inspired case and integrated bracelet. Four years later, Patek Philippe expanded the collection with the ladies' ref. 4700, featuring the same distinctive aesthetic in a more compact size. Produced from 1980 through 2004, the ref. 4700 became an important part of the Nautilus lineup. This example features a petite 27mm case made from 18k rose gold, complete with the collection's signature rounded octagonal bezel and integrated gold bracelet. The black dial provides a beautiful contrast against the warm rose gold finish, featuring simple gold baton hour markers and matching hands, along with a date window at 3 o'clock. With a precious metal finish, traditional Nautilus design codes, and historical significance as the collection's first ladies' model, the ref. 4700/1 is an interesting option for anyone who appreciates vintage Patek Philippe watches.
