The transitional Rolex Submariner ref. 168000 was the first model in the brand's collection of divers to offer water-resistance up to 300 meters. It was also the first to feature a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal over the dial as well as a higher-beat cal. 3035 Perpetual movement. This model essentially bridged the gap between vintage and modern Submariner references, earning it the nickname "Transitional Submariner." The diver is a prominent piece of Rolex history, and, as a result, has risen to high esteem among used Rolex collectors in-the-know. Since this is my first time purchasing a vintage Rolex, I've got to find a shop with good reputation. Bob's Watches is one of them. I was impressed by the quick response on my enquiry about the serial number on the bracelet. I was able to spot out a year produced in my birth year, so I made up my mind quickly.
