Pre-owned Rolex Submariner ref 16803 (1987) was among the first two-tone Submariner models when it hit the market in the mid-1980s. The collection has come a long way since then, spawning various iterations of the Submariner in steel and gold, including those with aluminum or ceramic bezels and either black or blue dials. However, none is as collection-worthy as the earliest examples, which have a certain enduring quality that many collectors are after. At the same time, ref. 16803 also boasts many modern design elements, such as a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal, a safer uni-directional diver's bezel, Super-LumiNova, and the caliber 3035 with a self-winding and a Quickset date. This edition features a black service dial and a matching black and gold aluminum bezel.
