Pre-owned Rolex Cosmograph Daytona Ref. 116518 (2006 - 2007) comes from a pivotal period in Daytona history. Introduced in 2000, it debuted alongside the yellow gold ref. 116528 and helped launch Rolex into a new era of chronograph production. Both references were powered by the caliber 4130, Rolex's first fully in-house self-winding chronograph movement. More than two decades later, the 4130 is still regarded as one of the most important movements Rolex has ever developed. While the ref. 116528 paired its yellow gold case with a matching Oyster bracelet, the ref. 116518 took a different approach. Worn on a leather strap, it is a slightly dressier and more relaxed interpretation of the Daytona, appealing to collectors who wanted the prestige of a gold chronograph without the full visual weight of an all-gold bracelet. And then there’s the bezel. The scale features bold, oversized numerals, triangular markers, and a circular layout that follows the contour of the dial. It's a distinctive design that gives the watch its own personality within the Daytona family.
