Pre-owned Rolex Date ref 1500 (1970) has all the DNA of a classic Rolex. It’s often compared to the Datejust, but there are a couple key differences. The biggest one is size. The Date ref. 1500 is 34mm, making it a bit more compact on the wrist. It also skips the Quickset function found on later Datejust models, giving it a more traditional, time-setting feel. This example has a simple design set, but in the best way. All stainless steel with a smooth bezel, paired with a Jubilee bracelet that adds just enough texture. The silver dial features older-style stick hour markers, and the Tritium lume has aged to a soft, light gold patina. Nothing flashy, just honest vintage character. It’s an easy-to-wear watch and a great entry point into vintage Rolex ownership.
