The first Oyster Perpetual Datejust came to market in 1945 during Rolex's 40th anniversary Jubilee. At the time of its debut, the Datejust was the first timepiece to offer an automatically changing date display on its dial. The ref. 1601 that you see here today came to market sometime in the 1970s and boasts a very desirable vintage feature set that includes an acrylic crystal, a Pie Pan dial with tapered edges, luminous plots in a striking patina, and an older-style American Oval link Jubilee bracelet with a Fliplock clasp. Within the case beats a calibre 1570 movement with automatic winding technology and a date mechanism. Timeless and sophisticated, this is the used Rolex to purchase if you seek a vintage dress watch with immense character.

Product was as advertised.
The whole process was seamless and as promised. The watch was in perfect condition and the presentation and packaging was outstanding. The Affirm process was seamless as well. I would definitely recommend Bob's Watches and do business with them again.
Stunning good looks. The slate dial is a bit more understated than the silver, gold, or black datejust dials, which I feel is important. The dial color pairs well with the bracelet or any brown or black leather straps.
Serial Number 2801936 is the one that I own. It is a complete set with box and papers. Unlike the version, shown in the photo, I have no luminescent hands. Great timepiece and has increased in value from the $255 Price Tag from June 28,1972. P.S. Not For Sale.
