pre-owned Rolex Datejust 16253 Thunderbird
The Rolex 16253 Datejust "Thunderbird" Turn-o-Graph replaced the long-running ref. 1625 in the 1970s and brought with it a higher-beat calibre 3035 self-winding movement. The ref. 16253 debuted alongside a few other references in the line and is the two-tone stainless steel and yellow gold variation. This ref. 16253 also notably does not have the name "Turn-o-Graph" printed on the dial, which was replaced with the distinction "Superlative Chronometer Officially Certified" just below the central hands. The line's signature rotatable bezel remains and is presented in 18 karat yellow gold. This example has aged well over the years and is in excellent secondhand condition. There is light stretch to the bracelet, and the Tritium luminous plots feature a creamy patina that matches the hue of the dial beautifully.
