The Datejust "Thunderbird" Turn-o-Graph came to market in 1953 and was the first timepiece in the Rolex catalog to feature a rotating timing bezel. The ref. 1625 was released a few years later in 1959 and continued production until the mid-1970s. A two-tone example of the line, the ref. 1625 presents the case and bracelet in stainless steel and 14 karat yellow gold. The bezel is also notably made from 14 karat yellow gold and features a 60-minute scale and a textured finish.
The ref. 1625 that is listed for sale here today is in good condition, considering its age, and boasts an older-style case and American Oval-link Jubilee bracelet and a matching champagne "Pie Pan" dial topped with yellow gold indices and hands and a luminous plots in a deep patina. If you're in the market for a notable vintage Rolex that won't break the bank, the legendary Thunderbird is an excellent option to consider.

It is just like the one my parents gave me for High School Graduation that was lost in a burglary. It''s good to have it back.
