While the Datejust "Thunderbird" Turn-o-Graph offers a modern design, its role in the evolution of the Rolex brand is pivotal. When it was released in the 1940's, the Thunderbird ,as many avid collectors often refer to it, featured the brand's very first rotatable timing bezel and holds the title of Rolex's first tool watch. Predating other more notable references with a timing bezel such as the Submariner and GMT Master II, this take on the Datejust is a fascinating piece of Rolex history. The newer used Rolex 116264 features a White Rolesor finish that combines 904L stainless steel with an 18 karat white gold bezel. The matte black dial offers a striking contrast to the metal finish and features a red seconds hand and date wheel as a nod towards the line's origins as a tool watch.
