Rolex first introduced its proprietary Cerachrom material to the collection in 2011 with the Everose gold ref. 116515, followed by the first stainless steel Cerachrom Daytona in 2016. That model quickly became one of the most sought-after Rolex watches on the secondary market.
Introduced in 2023 at Watches and Wonders, the ref. 126500 brought several important updates to the Daytona line. It features the new-generation caliber 4131 movement, a ceramic bezel framed in stainless steel, and refined hour markers and chronograph subdials. This 2025 example features the highly recognizable white dial with contrasting black subdials.
