Pre-owned Rolex Daytona 116508 (2022) replaced the outgoing ref. 116528 in 2016, with a similar all-gold design set, right down to the gold bezel and matching gold Oyster bracelet. Both are even powered by the same caliber 4130. What sets them apart is the layout of each bezel. Ref. 116528 has thinner numerals with tiny dots under them. Ref. 116508, on the other hand, has a fatter font and swaps the tiny dots for triangle markers. Furthermore, the numerals face inward towards the dial, giving the watch a slightly different aesthetic than its predecessor. Things get a bit tricky from there because references 116508 and 116528 were also produced around the same time as 116518, with a leather strap/gold bezel, and 116518LN, with an Oysterflex strap/ceramic bezel. Choosing between the different yellow gold 1165XX Daytonas ultimately comes down to personal preference.
