pre owned Rolex GMT-Master 16700 - "Pepsi" bezel
The Rolex 16700 is the last of the GMT line, coming to market in 1988 and continuing production well into the late 1990s. What's particularly interesting about this ref. 16700 is that it was produced alongside its successor the GMT Master II for several years. The preowned Rolex that is presented here today is in excellent condition and features a desirable red and blue dual-tone Pepsi bezel as well as a dial topped with luminous hour markers and hands, a red GMT hand, and a jump date. The dedicated hand is meant to be read against the bezel, allowing the wearer to track local and home time simultaneously. This feature came during a time when transatlantic flight was still a relatively new feat and was well-received among commercial pilots and other avid travelers.
