Pre-owned Rolex Sea-Dweller Deepsea ref 136660B (2024) is the current production version of Rolex’s most extreme dive watch, complete with the famed “James Cameron” dial. That nickname comes from filmmaker and explorer James Cameron’s 2012 solo dive to the bottom of the Mariana Trench. Rolex made an experimental dive watch that was mounted to the outside of his submersible, and later released a gradient blue-to-black dial version to commemorate the mission. That D-Blue dial fades from bright ocean blue at the top to deep black at the bottom, symbolizing the descent into the abyss. The green “DEEPSEA” text adds another subtle pop of color, and in person, the dial has far more depth than photos suggest. Compared to the previous ref. 126660, the 136660 brings meaningful upgrades. The bracelet has been refined for better balance on the wrist, and the overall ergonomics feel slightly improved despite the substantial 44mm case and 3,900-meter water resistance.
