The ref. 16618 was one of the first Submariner dive watches produced with an all-gold finish. It ran on a calibre 3035 Perpetual movement and remained in production until the early 2000s, making it relatively easy to find on the secondary market. The example that you see here today was produced in the early 1990s and is in excellent preowned Rolex condition. Its feature set includes satin and polished 18 karat yellow gold, a blue dial and bezel set, and Tritium luminous plots in yellow gold surrounds. The case offers waterproofness up to 300 meters as well as a unidirectional timing bezel and a bracelet secured by an Oysterlock clasp, making it a reliable diver's tool watch as well as a powerful statement piece.
