The newer Yacht-Master ref. 116622 features a similar design as the reference that debuted in the early 1990s, only now its boasts improved luminous material on the dial in the form of Rolex's patented Chromalight, a Rolesium finish of 950 platinum and 904L Oystersteel, an Oysterlock clasp with a tool-free Easylink extension system, and a contemporary dark rhodium grey dial adorned with icy blue accents. As a newer variation of the brand's iconic regatta timer, the ref. 116622 also boasts a Paramagnetic blue Parachrom hairspring, accuracy up to -2/+2 seconds per day, and a 48-hour power reserve. The Yacht-Master itself was developed as a regatta timer and boasts a 60-minute rotatable bezel, which can be set by the wearer to sync with race start times. The Yacht-Master line is also characterized by more dramatically tapered lugs and a sand-blasted bezel finish.
