As a member of Rolex's line of professional series watches, the Yacht-Master II serves a very specific function. The programmable regatta timer that is built into the movement is used to countdown to the race - or regatta - start time. When the race countdown is announced, the wearer can engage the programmable count down. Thanks to the addition of a Flyback function, if the countdown is engaged too early or too late, the wearer can reset it with a quick press of a button. This on-the-fly synchronization is crucial during regatta as there are penalties applied if a boat crosses the start line too soon. An innovative ring command bezel is the "key", as Rolex lovingly refers to it, to the programmable countdown timer and can be turned 90 degrees to access this feature. Behind its technically sophisticated design lies a contemporary and nautical feature set that you will be proud to don on your wrist. The case is larger, measuring 44mm in diameter, and boasts a blue ceramic bezel insert, a satin and polished Oystersteel finish, a reliable Easylink Oysterlock clasp, and a classy white dial topped with bright lume.
