Pre-Owned Rolex GMT-Master II 16760 - "Fat Lady Coke"
The first GMT Master II came to market in 1983 via ref. 16760 and offered a then-new movement with an independent GMT hand. The ability to set the GMT hand separately from the other hands on the dial increased the number of time zones that the wearer can read simultaneously from two to three. The case on the ref. 16760 is notoriously fatter than other GMT Master IIs that have since been released to accommodate the new movement within better, thus earning it the nickname "Sophia Loren" or "Fat Lady." These variations are highly sought-after on the pre-owned Rolex market. The particular vintage GMT that we have listed here today also features a striking two-tone "Coke" bezel in black and red, and older style Jubilee bracelet secured by a Fliplock clasp, and a dial topped with a contrasting luminous display.
