Pre-owned Rolex 1908 ref 52506 (2025). All eyes were on Rolex and the 1908 at last year's Watches and Wonders 2024 salon. In addition to being a brand-new collection for the brand, it seems to have replaced the similarly styled Cellini, although Rolex has never advertised it as such. Furthermore, it brought with it an exhibition case back, something rarely seen from Rolex, as well as the new caliber 7140. Another interesting development at the time was the stunning guilloché dial, complete with an icy blue hue to match the silver 950 platinum case. The pattern features a repeating "rice-grain motif" that radiates outwards from the small seconds register at 6 o'clock and a filet sauté crimped pattern on either side of the minute track. The result is a clean dial with immense dimension and character. Surrounding the dial is a double bezel, similar to the style seen in the past on the outgoing Cellini, featuring a domed inner bezel surrounded by a thin, fluted bezel. At the heart of it all is the caliber 7140, a self-winding, or "Perpetual," mechanical movement with a Syloxi hairspring in silicon and a 66-hour power reserve.
