Pre-owned Rolex Air-King ref 116900 (2021) brought a bold new look to the collection, pairing its aviation-inspired heritage with the proportions of a modern sports watch. Measuring 40mm, it introduced a larger case size and a dial layout that felt more adventurous than the dressier Air-King models that came before it. Still, familiar design elements remained, like the smooth bezel and straightforward time-only functionality that tie it back to its roots. What really steals the show here is the dial, directly influenced by cockpit instruments Rolex developed for the Bloodhound Super Sonic Car project, complete with luminescent Arabic numerals and the vibrant green-and-gold Rolex logo. Although the ref. 116900 has since been discontinued, it continues to attract collectors who appreciate its history and modern utility.

Description of watch was actually understated in a good way. Rolex was in even better condition than advertised I assume in an attempt to manage expectations which were happily exceeded.
