Pre-owned Rolex Air-King ref 116900 (2017) marked a new era for the Air-King, which initially debuted in 1945 as part of the "Air Series" of watches. While previous editions were more in line with a traditional Rolex dress watch, ref. 116900 took the collection in a sportier, more purpose-driven direction. The smooth bezel remains, but the case has grown to 40mm, sharing the same case with the anti-magnetic Milgauss. Furthermore, Rolex completely revamped the dial, taking inspiration from the dashboard instruments it created for the Bloodhound Super Sonic Car. The result is a super sporty variation of the beloved Air-King. This model was eventually replaced in 2022, but remains a highly sought-after collector's item for its unique proportions and its place in Rolex history.
Excellent buyer experience. Bob’s made sure I was the one purchasing the Air King and not someone else who may have obtained my credit info. Watch was shipped the next day via Fedex as advertised. Description of watch was actually understated in a good way. Rolex was in even better condition than advertised I assume in an attempt to manage expectations which were happily exceeded.
