Description: Rolex Cellini 4315 King Midas
Pre-owned Rolex Cellini ref 4315 King Midas (1976) is something of a cult favorite among Rolex collectors in the know. Its unique silhouette and all-gold design set are directly inspired by King Midas, who, it was rumored, turned everything he touched with his left hand into gold. Appropriately, Rolex has moved the crown to the left side of the case as a charming nod toward the famous Greek myth. When turned on its side, the Gerald Genta masterpiece also boasts an unorthodox case and bracelet, which resembles the Parthenon temple in Athena, Greece. The crown represents the peak of the temple roof, while the bracelet links are the temple columns. The watch was famously crafted from a single block of gold and was the heaviest gold watch on the market at the time. It also is one of the few limited editions released by Rolex, which the brand denotes with an engraved production number on the back of the bracelet. Even though Rolex produced a few iterations of the beloved King Midas, it is often regarded as an incredibly exclusive watch, and we have an outstanding edition for sale here today.
