The first Rolex Datejust Turn-o-Graph came to market in 1953 and was the very first Rolex to feature a rotating timing bezel. Interestingly enough, this feature outdated more well-known sports models such as the GMT Master and Submariner, making the Turn-o-Graph the brand's first tool watch. A few years after its debut, this variation of the Datejust was chosen as the official timepiece of the US Air Force's Thunderbird aerobatic team, earning it its iconic nickname the Datejust Thunderbird. The pre-owned Rolex 1625 came to market in the late 1950s and continued production well into the 1970s, making it a fascinating and relatively easy to find vintage timepiece.
