Pre-owned Rolex Day-Date II ref 218238 (2011 - 2015) Before the current-production 40mm model, there was the Date-Date II, Rolex's first foray into producing larger-sized Day-Date watches. While it adhered to the growing trend for larger, more contemporary luxury watches, Rolex only produced the 41mm collection until 2015 before discontinuing it in favor of the Day-Date 40. Still, there is a considerable demand for watches like the ref. 218238. It has a unique size and weight and represents an important time in Rolex history when the brand pushed past its time-honored design codes to add larger watches to its portfolio. At the same time, this model has all the classic Rolex Presidential design elements, including the eponymous President bracelet with rounded, three-piece links, a fluted bezel, and a dual-aperture dial. Ref. 218238 is a solid gold model with sparkling diamonds
