Before the Daytona was driven by a movement developed and produced entirely in-house, Rolex relied on the Zenith "El Primero" movement. Today, Daytonas powered by the Zenith caliber 4030 are coveted collector's items because of their status as discontinued Rolex movements and their unique place in Rolex history.
