Ask any Rolex collector in-the-know which watch is most closely associated with the world of motorsport, and chances are they will tell you the Cosmograph Daytona. Originally developed by Rolex in a bid to become the official watch of NASA, the Cosmograph Daytona was developed to measure incredible speeds. When that fell through, the Cosmograph quickly found its place among the tracks at the Daytona Speedway, and the Rolex Daytona s we know it was born. Among its many impressive timekeeping functions are a Tachymeter bezel that can measure speeds of up to 400 kilometers per hour, a Rolex calibre movement that boasts anti-shock technology as well as a Paramagnetic blue Parachrom hairspring, and chronograph functions that can be used to time laps and other driving times. The reference 116520 is a 904L steel variation and pairs the 40mm Oyster case with a masculine three-link Oyster bracelet and Oysterlock clasp.
