The Cosmograph Daytona reference 16523 carries with it an "El Primero" 44 jewel calibre 4030 perpetual movement. Produced in limited quantities, Daytonas with the "El Primero" self-winding movement are a rare addition to any Rolex sports watch collection. This reference also features a handsome two-tone design with a stainless steel and 18 karat yellow gold Oyster bracelet, Oysterlock clasp, and 40mm Oyster case. The case itself is the star of the show with a yellow gold Tachymeter timing bezel, scratch-resistant sapphire crystal, waterproof screw-down crown, and a white dial with chronograph functions that allow the wearer to track time in hours, minutes, and seconds. Originally designed for professional race car drivers, the Daytona is equipped with a waterproof screw-down crown that can withstand depths of up to 330 feet as well as extreme temperature variations. This protects the calibre 4030 self-winding movement for a highly reliable reading, on or off the track.
