The first Deepsea came to market in 2008 via ref. 116660. The most celebrated feature of this deep saturation diver is its incredible depth rating of up to 12,800 feet, a resistance that it can attribute to the addition of a thicker sapphire crystal, a Triplock screw-down crown with three sealed zones, a screw-down case back, and a Helium Escape Valve. The Helium Escape Valve - aka HEV - is a device that allows the gasses that accumulate within the case to properly escape while diving, allowing the crystal to remain intact despite the incredible pressures experienced at extreme depths. The Deepsea also boasts a larger 44mm Oyster case to accommodate its substantial depth rating as well as a maxi dial topped with a larger luminous display, 904L stainless steel, and a Cerachrom bezel with a ceramic insert.
