The contemporary Rolex Explorer boasts a larger 39mm Oyster case, a calibre 3132 perpetual movement, improved Chromalight on the dial, and 904L Oystersteel. The ref. 214270 came to market in 2010 and has since been met with great esteem among avid pre-owned Rolex collectors for its subtle increase in size and its attractive price point. The Explorer for sale here is the Mark I, or MKI, dial variation that features slightly shorter hour, minute, and seconds hands and silver Arabic markers at the 3, 6, and 9-hour positions. Newer references boast longer hands as well as luminous Arabic markers, which makes this particular variation an intriguing collector's item.
