Pre-owned Rolex Explorer ref 224270 (2023) is a coveted current-production model with the next-generation caliber 3230 Perpetual movement and 40mm case. When the famous mountaineer's tool watch came to market in the 1950s, it featured a 36mm case. Rolex upgraded it for the modern collector in 2010, swapping the 36mm case for 39mm. Today, collectors have their choice of either the original 36mm dimension or the contemporary 40mm. Either size features the collection's iconic, understated, and purpose-driven design with a time-only dial, stainless steel finish, and smooth bezel. The iconic baton and 3/6/9 dial configuration are instantly recognizable, making this ref. 224270, a prized collector's item in many watch collecting circles.
