This vintage "Rootbeer" GMT-Master is in overall great, honest condition. The case is in good condition with some light scratches and normal signs of wear; it has been polished. The inside caseback is stamped "1675" and "II.71." The numbers between the lugs are visible and the text has some light scratching from the end links. The bezel is in good, honest condition with normal signs of wear and some scratches; it has faded throughout. The dial is in great condition with light patina. The lume on the dial has developed patina and is an even pale-yellow color. The hour markers and hands have developed patina. The lume in the hands has developed patina and are close to the color of the lume on the dial. Under higher magnification, the lume on the local hour and seconds hand show signs of cracking. The two-tone Oyster bracelet has 13 links and no. 258 end links. Back of clasp is stamped '1 72' indicating it's from 1972. The bracelet is in overall great condition with normal signs of wear and light stretch between the links which is more uncommon for this style bracelet.
The reference 1675 is the second iteration of the original GMT-Master and was offered in multiple variations. A handful of metal options were produced under ref. 1675, including the steel and gold like the example we have here. It pairs the two-tone finish with a beautiful brown dial with brown and gold bezel. However, what really sets this watch apart from other vintage Rolexes on the market are the charming yellow gold nipple hour markers and overall “Root Beer” motif.
