Pre-owned Rolex GMT-Master ref 16750 (1984) replaced the ref. 1675 when it was released in the early 1980s, bringing with it the higher-beat caliber 3075 with a quickset date. Depending on the year produced, ref. 16750 has a matte or glossy dial, like the example for sale here. These 16750s are considered transitional because Rolex still used acrylic crystals with the upgraded movements and for the early run, Rolex used matte dials similar to those on the previous reference 1675.
The circa 1984 example we have here is in overall lovely condition and features a "Swiss only" service dial. These "Swiss only" service dials are neat because they feature Luminova so the dial will still glow. These offer the perfect blend of modern and vintage all wrapped into one.
The watch was just as described, in fact, better than described online. The transaction was simple, secure, and seamless.
This was my first time working with Bob's and the process could not have been better from my perspective. The watch was a gift for my son who enjoys watches...this will be his 6th Rolex. I didn't participate in the conversations but he had several several questions which the staff fully answered. I entered when it was time to settle up. The customer service was great and the watch arrived very quickly. I'm not the the watch enthusiast in the family, but I see no reason why we wouldn't be looking for # 7 with Bob's as well.
