Pre-Owned Watch Condition Examination
This Rolex watch is in overall excellent condition with surface wear to the bracelet and case typical for a yellow gold watch. The case is in good condition and has been polished. The hallmarks on the back of the lugs are clearly visible. This watch has a service dial, hands, and bezel. The bracelet is in great condition with some wear and stretch between the links which is not uncommon for this style bracelet.
Rolex GMT-Master 16758
The 1675X series hit the market in the 1950s, featuring the caliber 3075 Perpetual movement, Tritium lume, and an Oyster or Jubilee bracelet. Metal finishes include stainless steel, two-tone, or full-gold. Ref. 16758 is the yellow gold edition that interestingly features a sapphire crystal instead of acrylic. While there are other gold Rolex watches on the market, none is quite like the GMT Master ref. 16758. Features include a black dial decorated with a gold 24-hour scale, a black dial with gold-trimmed hour markers and hands, and dual time capabilities. If you prefer a watch that can read home and local time at once or appreciate the aesthetic of the gold GMT, this pre-owned Rolex is the watch for your wrist.
This circa 1984 example features a later "Swiss" only service dial and service hands. It was common practice for Rolex to change and update watches when they come in for routine service and that is exactly what happened to this watch. This one with the "Swiss only" dial will still glow in the dark because of the Luminova luminous material used.
