This GMT-Master reference 16700 is in overall great vintage condition. The case is in great condition with some scratches and normal signs of wear. The inside caseback is stamped "16700." The numbers are clearly visible and crisp between the lugs. The red and blue bezel insert is in great condition with some scratches and normal sigs of wear; the red portion has faded slightly. The dial is in good, attractive condition with some patina, marks, and light scratches that can be hard to notice. The center and on the inside of the minute hash-marks show some slight hand-drag that can be hard to notice. The lume on the dial has developed patina and aged to a lovely creamy, slightly ivory color. The hands are in good condition with some patina; the lume in the hands is a bit lighter in color than the lume on the dial which is not uncommon. This watch has a 93150 bracelet with no. 501B end links, divers extension and 13 links. The clasp is stamped "M12" indicating it is from 1988. The bracelet is in great condition with normal wear and a bit of stretch between the links, which is not uncommon. The first two links on the 12 o'clock side show some marks and wear.
The Rolex GMT-Master reference 16700 (1988) was the last of the original GMT-Master models. The collection would be made and sold along with the 16710 until the late 1990s. As a last-of, reference 16700 is prized among collectors in the know. Features include the caliber 3175 with hacking seconds, tritium in white gold surrounds, and scratch-resistant sapphire crystal.
