Rolex Gold Submariner 116618
A product of the early 2000's, the Rolex Submariner reference 116618 is a relatively new addition to the Submariner line. Its case boasts a design that is noticeably more modern with the addition of wider, angular lugs and crown guards. The bezel still boasts a unidirectional design but is now produced with a Cerachrom insert that is more suited for spending extended periods of time in the water when compared to older models that utilized an aluminum bezel insert. The dial features an updated design and is often referred to by Rolex as a "maxi dial". The hour markers and hands are filled with Chromalight lume and are larger and wider, offering a reading that is much more legible. The bracelet is equipped with a Glidelock clasp, which allows the wearer to adjust the length instantly without the use of tools. On my list after previously owning a stainless steel sub and currently also own a two tone gold/stainless sub.
