Luxury watch collectors adore the Rolex Oyster Perpetual because it offers the exclusivity of the Rolex brand while maintaining an affordable pre-owned price. The Rolex 1002 is also an excellent opportunity to invest in an introductory vintage Rolex that will hold its value well. This example is presented in versatile stainless steel, making this OP hard for any Rolex enthusiast to resist. Other features include a silver dial decorated with older-style hour markers and hands and the iconic Tiffany & Co logo. We haven't seen many of these dual-signed reference 1002's so when this one came in we got pretty excited. We love the older style "Tiffany & Co." font on the upper half of the dial. When looking closely you can notice the "Tiffany" stamp is not completely even, this is common because they were all stamped by hand - a neat little quirk. In addition to the dual signed dial, this is also a "Sigma Dial" marked by two Sigma symbols flanking the “T Swiss T” at the dial's edge, indicating the use of gold—specifically white gold—in its hands and hour markers. This distinction originated from a 1970s initiative by L’Association pour la Promotion Industrielle de l’Or (APIOR) to standardize the indication of precious gold in watches, a meaningful feature particularly for steel models, where stainless steel and white gold are similar in appearance.
