This Oyster Perpetual reference 1024 is in overall great, honest vintage condition. The case is in great condition with some scratches throughout and normal signs of wear. The gold plating on the case is in good condition. The caseback and back of the case are not plated. The inside of the caseback is stamped "1024." The outside of the case back has a personal engraving that reads "PRESENTED IN APPRECHITATION TO BOB LINDEEN FOR 25 YEARS OF LOYAL ASSOCIATION JANURARY 2, 1963 - 88 HALLMARK CARDS." Serial and reference numbers between the lugs are clearly visible. The dial is in overall great condition with light patina. The Hallmark Cards logo of the dial has a grainy texture that is different than the rest of the dial text. The lume on the dial and hands has developed patina and aged to a lovely pale-yellow color. The hands themselves have developed some patina, this is most noticeable on the hour hand. This has a 78354 bracelet with 457 end links and 11 links. The gold electroplated oyster bracelet is in great condition with some scratches, wear, and normal signs of wear throughout. The bracelet has developed a shiny look. The inside of the bracelet and some edges have a bit of wear to the gold plating. The bracelet has a bit of stretch between the links which is not uncommon. The clasp is stamped “K6” indicating it's from 1986.
This vintage Rolex Oyster Perpetual ref 1024 (1985) is an excellent opportunity for collectors to get in a coveted all-gold Rolex without breaking the bank. The vintage OP from circa 1985 features a gold-plated finish, a silver dial with Hallmark Cards logo, and an approachable 34mm case. Like other Oyster Perpetuals, the case is water resistant via a screw-down crown and features a self-winding mechanical movement that automatically winds with the movement of the wearer's wrist. It sports many inherently vintage design elements, such as an acrylic crystal and older-style hour markers, giving this Rolex immense character and vintage charm.
These OPs were given to long time employees of Hallmark as mentioned on the engraving on the back. We love the lack of text on the dial and instead the Hallmark making this a "dual crown" Rolex!
