Rolex Submariner 16803 - Two-Tone Transitional Model
Rolex rolled out a two-tone version of the Submariner in 1984, officially creating a luxury version of their notorious divers watch. This combination of steel and 18 karat yellow gold offered a watch that was not only durable but dressy as well, allowing it to go from the ocean to a fancy gala effortlessly. This impressive timepiece features a 40mm Oyster case with a waterproof screw-down crown, a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal, and a black and gold 60-minute timing bezel. The bezel is designed with serrated edges and a unidirectional design to allow the wearer to safely measure decompression stops and diving times while in the water. The case is paired with an Oyster bracelet with flat links, gold center links, and an Oysterlock clasp. As always, the Submariner is equipped with a Rolex-made COSC certified movement. This reference employs the calibre 3085 movement with a 42-hour power reserve.
