Rolex developed the Oyster Royal in the early 1930s. The model is a horology icon as one of the first timepieces to have a centrally-mounted seconds hand. It also utilizes Rolex's famous waterproof Oyster case, which came to market in 1926 and was also an industry trailblazer. While most Rolex watches run on automatic winding, this vintage gem relies on a hand-wound movement, further adding to its fascinating history. The example you see here was produced in the late 1950s and includes a charming silver textured dial, dauphine hands, retro arrowhead hour markers, and Arabic numerals at the 3, 6, and 9 o'clock positions.
