During the 1970's Rolex developed a Datejust watch fitted with a Quartz movement. This watch came during a time when watches fitted with Quartz movements were among some of the most sought-after timepieces in the world. The particular men's OysterQuartz 17000 that we have listed here today pairs a striking brushed steel finish with a white dial topped with silver stick hour markers, an automatic date at 3 o'clock, and central sweeping hands filled with lume plots. Patina lume tops each marker. Rolex collectors in-the-know will appreciate the minimal text on the dial, a result of the movement being produced before Rolex started having them COSC certified. An angular case and integral bracelet give the ref. 17000 the distinct style that distinguishes the OysterQuartz apart from other Rolex watches from the same era.
