The Rolex OysterQuartz Day-Date 19018 that is presented here today is a fascinating timepiece. Produced sometime in the early 1980's, this particular ref. 19018 was produced during a time that many collectors refer to as the "Quartz Crisis," which saw a significant shift in demand from mechanical to quartz movements. Rolex developed a line of quartz models specifically for this reason called the OysterQuartz. The ref. 19018 is the gold Day-Date variation and is characterized by an angular Oyster case and an integral bracelet. Similar to traditional Day-Date models, the dial displays the date at 3 o'clock as well as the day spelled out in full at 12 o'clock. The day is presented in Italian, making it a unique addition to any luxury watch collection.
