The fast-paced world of the Daytona speedway is no match for the incredible Cosmograph Daytona. First introduced in 1963, this incredible sports watch quickly became beloved by watch collectors all over the world. Thanks in large part to the addition of a Tachymeter bezel and sub-dials that were used by professional racecar drivers to calculate driving speeds. Fast forward 50 years to Basel World 2013 and the release of reference 116506. A special design made in honor of the Daytona's 50th anniversary, this reference became an instant collector's item. This mesmerizing sports watch features a design that had never been seen on the Daytona before, a case and bracelet made entirely of luxurious 950 Platinum. Among its other updated features is the chestnut brown ceramic bezel with Cerachrom inserts, handsome ice blue dial, Triplock winding down crown, and scratch-resistant sapphire crystal. Rolex's superior calibre 4130 self-winding movement with a Paramagnetic blue Parachrom hairspring rests within the 40mm waterproof Oyster case, providing a reading that is resistant to temperature changes and shocks. A folding Oysterlock safety clasp with an Easylink extension link ensures a comfortable and secure hold.
