Pre Owned Rolex Sea-Dweller Model 16660
The Triple Six Rolex Sea-Dweller was produced between 1978 and 1989. During that time, two main variations of the ref. 16660 were released to the market. Those with either a matte dial and painted hour markers or those with a glossy dial and white gold-trimmed markers. Each edition boasts its own aesthetic that will appeal to a broad range of dive watch enthusiasts.
Collectors in-the-know will note that the ref. 16660 was the first reference in the Sea-Dweller collection to offer water-resistance up to 4,000 feet, compared to its predecessor ref. 1665 with a 2,000-foot depth rating. The ref. 16660 was also one of the first Rolex dive watches to feature a sapphire crystal over the dial and to feature a uni-directional time-lapse bezel. Overall, the 16660 is somewhat of a transitional reference that eased the Sea-Dweller's transition from a vintage deep saturation diver to the modern collection that is currently in production today. This watch is a highly prized collector's item that features Tritium lume in a stunning patina.
