History: Since its introduction in the 1960's, there are two versions of Rolex Daytonas. The original version, manufactured in small numbers from 1960 to the 1980's, has unique 4 digit reference numbers, or model numbers, engraved on the case. This model eventually became so popular in the early 90's that it lead to a second version to meet surging worldwide demand. This second version came with what is called a Zenith El Primero and is often praised as the hallmark of chronographs for it's accuracy and reliability. The Zenith movement is believed by most to be more accurate and reliable than its successor. The current version is made by Rolex and is noted by its 6 digit reference number.

I just received my Daytona. Its a dream come true. I am a big race fan and have watched many accomplished drivers receive their Daytona on the podium. I will never get that chance but a guy can dream. Its my 60th this year and so I treated myself. I gave it to my wife to give back to me for my birthday. Win Win. The watch is in great shape with the box, hang tags and manuals. Since this is my first Rolex there was no way to get a brand new one (two year wait fro repeat customers) so I started looking. Bob's had a very fair price and offered me the watch I wanted in the condition I required with all the Rolex packaging. I shopped around and Bob's was the best.
