Transitional Rolex watches can be, at times, elusive making collecting them a sport in itself. The reference 16803 that is listed here today was produced for a short time between 1984 and 1988. This transitional Sub was one of the first Submariner's to offer a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal as well as a two-tone finish utilizing stainless steel and 18 karat yellow gold. It's common to find the two-tone finish paired with a blue unidirectional bezel as well as a blue dial topped with lume. This nautical style is at home both in the sea as well as at the office or dressed up for a night out on the town.
