The 1980's saw the addition of the first two-tone Submariner diver's watch. One of the hottest Rolexes of the 80's, the ref. 16803 has since become a prized collector's item. While many collectors seek this particular used Rolex for its versatile steel and gold finish and striking blue accents, others appreciate the ref. 16803 for the technical construction that once allowed it to withstand pressures of up to 1,000 feet. Some degree of waterproofness may have been lost over time, depending on the condition of the individual watch, but the toughness of the Oyster case will always remain, making it a smart investment for collectors of all budgets.
