Pre-owned Rolex Submariner ref 116619 (2018) was the first white gold model in the series when it was released back in 2008. Coupled with a matte blue dial and bezel, the white gold model quickly earned the nickname "Rolex Smurf" due to its resemblance to the beloved cartoon character. While other blue dial Submariners exist, this one is special because it forgoes the usual metallic sunburst dial for a matte finish, matching the then-new Cerachrom bezel. The white lume pops, further fueling the association with Smurfs. Like other early 6-digit models, this Submariner is also distinguished by broader, more contemporary lugs, a larger crown guard, and "maxi" hour markers and hands. This model was discontinued in 2020, alongside the introduction of the 1266XX generation. Still, it remains a treasured collector's item in many watch collecting circles.
