Vintage Heuer "Jo Siffert" Autavia reference 1163
The Heuer "Jo Siffert" Autavia reference 1163 is one of the most iconic vintage Heuer chronographs. The late legendary Formula One driver Jo Siffert wore one of these starting in circa 1969 and helped to popularize Heuer chronographs with his fellow drivers. The "panda" dial of a white dial with black registers is similar to another iconic chronograph from that era: the Paul Newman Daytona. This Autavia, however, has the benefit of having an automatic movement. The present watch is a "Mark 6" example featuring central hour and minute hands with a blue stripe down the middle and an hour register on the dial featuring full 1-12 numbering versus early examples that only had 3-6-9-12. This "Mark 6" version is also worn and enjoyed by Jerry Seinfeld.
