Tudor Black Bay 36 ref 79500 (2016 - 2021) represents the versatility of the broader heritage collection, which initially launched in 2012 and more closely resembled the Tudor Submariner dive watch. Featuring a smooth bezel and a time-only dial, ref. 79500 has its own unique aesthetic while following the same "vintage-inspired" design codes that many have come to expect from the popular Black Bay series. Looking at the dial, it sports the charming "Smiley Face" text and iconic Snowflake-style hands, as well as a larger crown without the usual guards we see on modern dive watches. What's also interesting about ref 79500 is that it was considerably smaller than the rest of the heritage lineup when it came to market in 2016, which likely accounts for the collection's immense popularity at the time. Today, collectors adore this edition of the Tudor series because of its entry-level price point and versatile design set.
